The Reserve Unit was created to supplement Road Officers in an efficient and cost-effective way.
Not only do Reserve Officers contribute to the patrol function of the department, but they also provide valuable services during special events.
The Greensboro Police Reserve Unit is a highly trained, flexible, and dedicated unit, that assists the police department in a variety of ways.
Reserve Officers are volunteers who are selected using the same recruitment process as full-time officers.
They attend a formal academy and complete an extensive field training program.
We want to acknowledge our outstanding Reserve Unit for their selfless hours they dedicate each month to our department.
In addition to working full time jobs, our Reserve Officers work on average over 300 hours a month as a Unit.
They assist the Road Officers with shift coverage, special events, and incidents where additional personnel are needed.
Our department is very fortunate to have all of the dedicated personnel that we can count on every day.
Thank you all for everything you do for the Greensboro Police Department, and the Greensboro Community. You are greatly appreciated!
If you have a desire to protect and serve this community, become a Reserve Officer!
