Overview


Under Indiana Code 36-5-2-9

the powers granted to the Town Council are the ability to:

• Adopt and use a common seal

• Adopt ordinances and resolutions for the performance functions of the Town

• Purchase, hold, and convey any interest in property, for the use of the Town


Under Indiana Code 36-5-2-11

• The Town Council may issue bonds for the purpose of procuring money, to be used in the exercise
of the powers of the Town, and for the payment of Town debts

• However, the Town may not issue bonds to procure money to pay current expenses


Under Indiana Code 36-5-3-4

• The Town Council adopts an annual budget

About Greensboro

Greensboro is a small town in Greensboro Township, Henry County, Indiana.

The town was a 'station' on the Underground Railroad, and was recognized for its active abolitionists.
